Ever fancied seeing yourself on a magazine cover? Our upcoming PR class is a good opportunity for you to learn how to become a media darling, and more generally how to get press for your company.
As you will discover, the first step is to find a good angle that will be interesting for readers. However, this is only the start; if you want your company to be in the news on a regular basis, there are a handful of skills you need to develop. Luckily enough, this class will cover all of the important aspects of PR, such as:
Our teacher is Conrad Egusa, Founder & CEO of PR agency Publicize, whose clients have been featured in major US publications. While Conrad is an expert at PR, he also knows the “other side of the table” from his previous experience as a writer for the tech blog VentureBeat, and more recently as a guest contributor to TechCrunch.
A mentor at 500 Startups, Conrad is also very much familiar with the entrepreneurship scene, and works with several Y Combinator alumni. Publicize’s goal is indeed to change the way startups approach PR, among other things by offering them affordable rates and a free assessment.
Interestingly, the firm is based in Medellin, Colombia, and as a result Conrad also has very relevant advice to share on how PR and the media are different in the U.S. vs. Latin America.
Please note that this class also makes a great follow up to the business writing lesson that Bloomberg Beta head Roy Bahat recently gave on Platzi. It was very practical, with lots of advice and tool recommendations that can help you improve your writing. If you missed it, you can still watch the recording and access the documents here.
Back to Conrad’s class: you’ll be glad to know that this masterclass is entirely free. All you have to do is sign up here!
